It's a "interesting" read. I like the authors use of science theories of time & multi-universes, but did not get the meaning behind the 7 characters in the story. The story seems to have no meaning to it. Perhaps that is the authors point.
Fantastic read! Officer's writing is very fun, and the story gives a super unique spin on one of my favorite theories. I normally don't read much fantasy, but the way the author explains the background and ties everything together makes it a lot more relatable. My mind was totally blown at how everything ultimately worked out. I'm excited to read his next novel!

Fabricating Humanity was one of the more thought provoking pieces of science fiction I have read in recent memory. I found myself psychologically immersed from start to finish. Fast read, I highly recommend.
I'm fairly new to the genre but this was recommended by a friend so I dove in. I tend to like movies and books that are considered "thinkers" and this completely delivered on that front. Also being a believer in the upcoming singularity this book was right up my alley. A very cool story that is woven together by stories of several characters, it is well worth the read.
You start with the premise that some scientists escape Earth to run from a machine they created that was destroying humanity. “Then it happened.” The story seems to lose any point and enters into a confusing tale of what? Discovery? Truth? WHAT?! I have no idea because the author didn’t give one. Apparently he thinks that life in essence is pointless and the only reason for living is the one we give it. Excuse my vernacular, but “DUH!” (said in my best stupid voice). Save yourself the $3. There are far better stories out there that convey truth and meaning while also succeeding at being entertaining. I finished the book and felt profoundly empty, reminiscing and longing for the reality in which I had saved those $3 and bought a beer.
This both a quick and satisfyingly challenging read. It starts in a setting reminiscent of Brent Weeks' "Night Angel Trilogy" but weaves in themes much more connected with the world that we live in. Ultimately, "Fabricating Humanity" leaves the reader thinking deeper about our future and how the decisions we're making with modern technology will affect it. This is a fantastic book that begs for a re-read.
