I found the book so jumbled and confusing. The guy sees her once and then pays to have a security system put in her house. Then buys her a car. Totally ludicrous storyline.
I really wanted to like this book but it’s just so poorly written. The story line is one of my favorites, boy meets girl falls in instant lust, girl meets boy and distrusts how gorgeous he is. But wading through the poor grammar and immature writing was just too tedious.
I was immediately sucked into this story. Although it is actually just another in a series of romance novels I've lost myself in, this one has a decent story line to get lost in.
I now understand that I will need to buy the second book of this trilogy or give up on understanding what is the deeper meaning of Sara's, the principal character of this book, thoughts and actions.
I feel like the book struggles a bit to have an actually flow of story telling. It sounds off more like she's relaying facts.
I don't understand how Sara our main character has gone through something tragic but appears to have learned nothing from her experience. I expected a more modest and safety cautious person. She seems clueless, drinks too much, and makes bad decisions. For a virgin she practically threw herself and gave in too fast imo to our Alek. I so far am not impressed but going to give the second book a try. I really hope I eventually start to like Sara but right now she just annoys me lol. I'm on the fence with my feelings about our hero in the story. Romantic scenes...meh.
Alek and Sara had an unbelievable relationship. Alek is wealthy and finds Sara in a flower shop that aspect is cute many people find their significant others within their line of work, so that wasn't so far fetched. The following events paint a different story, Sara and Alek spend one day together, and he is soon forcing his wants on her, for example, the security system. I can see a guy suggesting something like that to try and protect his significant others safety. I just didn't like the flow of the story, it wasn't an easy read for me, and I struggled to read through it. I may try to read the next book in the series; I first read this book at the beginning of 2018 maybe it will appeal for me differently today.
I was looking for a modern Cinderella story and Addicted caught my eye. There were so many elements of this story taken from the Fifty Shades trilogy. No originally! The difference was Anastasia was more mature than Sara and had better sense when to pick her battles with Christian. Sara was constantly butting heads with Alek and it became monotonous. I should have stopped with Addicted but I did get the following two books and I wished I didn't. If you want to read a lesser version of FSOG; then I recommend this trilogy.
